We all have mental health that at times can require some additional attention and care. This seminar sub-series looks at a variety of mental wellbeing topics such as burnout, work/life balance, loneliness and grief.
Optimising Work Life Balance
In this seminar, we will help you identify the key factors that contribute to creating and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. We will explore the psychological impact and learn how to best manage stress. The seminar will also explore the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and the support systems that are available to you to help improve your mental and physical health as well as your work-life balance.
Beating Burnout
Burnout is a very common problem, it can be understood as stress experienced in an occupational context and defined as a state of mental and physical exhaustion. In this seminar, we will explore the triggers, the underlying mechanisms, and the symptoms associated with burnout. We will also look at the various practices and techniques we can implement into our daily lives to help overcome burnout
Strengthening Resilience
When we are resilient, we are better able to manage stress and set backs in life. In this seminar, we will explore the core foundations of resilience and learn about the impact of resilience and stress. You will also learn some helpful tips and techniques that you can try out, to help strengthen your resilience for better physical, emotional and mental wellbeing.
Coping with Grief & Loss
In this seminar, we will explore our emotions and gain a deeper understanding of how complex grief can be, and why people react and grieve in different ways. We will look at some common myths around grief, grieving within a within a family, and living with loss. We will also advise on how to best support others and ourselves during a period of grief or loss
Combatting Loneliness & Isolation
In today’s ‘always on’ world, we are more connected to each other than ever before through technology. Yet, there is a loneliness epidemic happening, with many of us experiencing loneliness in our daily lives. In this seminar, we will explore the difference between loneliness and isolation, the impact on our mental and physical health, ways we can overcome loneliness and isolation in our professional and personal lives, and learn about the supports that are available
Introduction to Mindfulness
What is mindfulness? In this seminar we will explore the practice of mindfulness and the benefits it can have on our wellbeing. We will learn about the autopilot mind and the focused mind, as well as give you an opportunity to join in on some mindfulness exercises lead by our presenter and psychologist, Dr. Aman Kwatra.
